Welcome to the Health Information Technology Program

  • Gain the skills to manage patient care data as a Health Information Technician (HIT) with an Associate’s HIT Degree.

  • Increase your employability with advanced skills and knowledge for use in the labor market right away.

  • Helps prepare you to obtain Certification by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).

  • Easily transfer your credits towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management, should you desire.

  • Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM)

The Health Information Management accreditor of Austin Community College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). ACC’s accreditation for Associate Degree in Health Information Technology has been reaffirmed through 2022-2023.
