Ina Midkiff is the Department Chair of Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, and Real Estate. She has taught at Austin Community College for over 20 years. She earned a BBA and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from Tarleton State University. Over the years she has served as Division Chair of Business Studies Division, Department Chair of Management, Associate Dean at Cypress Creek Campus, Assistant Department Chair of Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, and Real Estate and served as an officer of Austin Community College’s Faculty Association. She also has had several consulting jobs for small Internet companies. She teaches Advertising, Marketing, and Financial Management courses.

She received the ACC Teaching Excellence Award for the outstanding full-time faculty member (2004-2005) of the year in May 2005. She was the 2002 Piper Professor Nominee from Austin Community College. In 1991 she received the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award at ACC and has been nominated several times as the outstanding full-time instructor at ACC by the Phi Theta Kappa student association. Her professional affiliations include Texas Community College Teachers Association and the Southwestern Administrative Disciplines in Marketing.

Eileen has over ten years of experience in Retail Management with focus in Customer Relations and has earned her AAS in Visual Communications from Austin Community College. She has collaborated with ACC’s Creative Design Technologies and ACC’s Architectural and Engineering CAD Departments while serving as Graphic Designer and Graphic Design Tutor. Eileen has brought a valuable set of skills, experiences and diversity to our department and now serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Marketing, Fashion, Real Estate and Finance Departments.

Courtney Ahrenholtz has been an NASD licensed securities supervisor, producer and agent and has an extensive background in banking and financial services. Courtney lead the flagship branch of a Fortune 100 bank in the Austin and has been part of setup teams for new (deNovo) retail bank operations in the area. Courtney has also worked in various teaching and support roles with the Leander Independent School District.Courtney is a small business owner of and the active beekeeper for Green Fields Apiary. She is an active member in the community and has served multiple non-profit organizations.

In 2002, Courtney graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in French from the University of Northern Colorado. She continued her studies at Texas A&M–Commerce where she earned a Master of Science degree in Business Management in 2010. Courtney strongly believes in serving the community and has served for several non-profit organizations in Central Texas. She has traveled extensively and enjoys learning about new cultures and customs.

Isaac received his Master of Science in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin following his Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) and Bachelor of Arts (Iberian and Latin American Language and Culture, Spanish). He is excited to join the Austin Community College Marketing Department. In addition to teaching at ACC, Isaac works in the Texas Legislature, is a Texas REALTOR®, and an entrepreneur. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his dog Buddy, exploring national parks, traveling, scuba diving, and running.

Kia Morris has been with ACC for two years in the Business Office Technology Department. She also works as a Regional Marketing Manager at FGM Architects and is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), where she volunteered on the Education Committee for 4 years. She received her B.S. in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University and an MBA in Marketing from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Gloria is a native Austinite and received her Bachelors in Marketing from Southwest Texas in 1993. She worked in the Retail Management/Customer Service industry for five years. She obtained her teaching certification in Business and began teaching at Georgetown High School where for 5 years she taught Business Communication Information Systems (B.C.I.S), Business Multimedia Management and Principles of Marketing. She loved the marketing courses so much that within those five years she returned to Southwest to complete a second teacher certification in Marketing.

During the summer of 2000, Gloria completed an Internship with Austin Community College assisting with the Principle of Marketing Courses. At that point she really wanted to be a part of the ACC Marketing staff. She has been an adjunct for ACC since 2004 teaching the Principles of Marketing class and is enjoying every minute of it. You can also find her at McNeil High School where she is now the Career and Tech Academy Specialist helping students progress through courses related to career pathways of interest that allow will allow students to earn certifications and college credit before graduating from high school. She has also taught marketing courses such as Principles of Marketing, Entrepreneurship and Advertising as well as sponsoring DECA, a Marketing Association for High School Students

Vanessa earned a B.S. in Textiles and Apparel: Apparel Design from The University of Texas at Austin, along with a Business Foundations certificate in 2007. Upon graduation, she completed an internship with Sikara & Co. Jewelry in downtown Austin, where she ultimately became the company’s first employee. Vanessa has represented the brand at numerous trade shows, worked with international manufacturers, and acquired first-hand knowledge of what goes into running a retail store. She oversaw wholesale and operations of Sikara & Co for 13 years, and she still helps the brand with inventory and ordering decisions. In 2017, Vanessa also started her own jewelry line called 805jewels. In addition, she became an Area Manager at Amazon in 2020, overseeing as many as 160 associates at once and helping in both the inbound inventory department and the outbound shipping department.

Kathy Walton is an adjunct faculty member at ACC and has taught Marketing, Fashion Merchandising/Design, and Management classes at several institutions for over 25 years. Those institutions include Austin Community College, Salt Lake Community College, Purdue University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She earned a BS at New Mexico State University in Home Economics in Business (fashion focused); MS at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Home Economics with a Merchandising emphasis; and a PhD in Education focusing on Community and Human Resources. In addition to serving as a faculty member and occasional department coordinator at Purdue and SLCC, she has served as the Director of Community Education at Brazosport College in Lake Jackson, TX. Kathy has also served as a consultant/industry trainer to numerous companies throughout the country through her consulting firm, Magistra Enterprises.

Kathy has been very active with Collegiate DECA, a student organization for people interested in careers in Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship. She has been a chapter advisor, state advisor, regional board representative, and served on the National Board of Directors as the secretary, president-elect, and as the President. She has received numerous awards from Collegiate DECA including Texas Advisor of the Year, 40 Years of Service in 2022, and the Honorary Life Member Award (the highest award given in the organization) in 2007. In addition, she received the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award from UT-Austin in 1995; the Teaching Excellence Award from SLCC in 1989; Marketing Teacher of the Year for the state of Utah in 1987, 1990, and 1999; Utah Vocational Educator of the Year in 2000, and the Top 100 Alumni from the Past 100 Years at NMSU in 1988. She is active in the Texas Association of Continuing Education and is a Travis County Master Gardener.
