Activities & Involvement


Get a proper introduction to Austin Community College and start building community with Student Life during the first few weeks of each semester by attending Welcome Week events & the Riverbat Bash Area of Study Resource Fair. In October & March, be sure to participate in Wellness Week events to help you finish out the semester strong. Finally, celebrate the end of the semester with us at events during Finals Week. Do you identify with one of these communities?

  • First-Generation College Student: Students whose primary caregivers have not received a 4-year college degree in the United States
  • First Time In College (FTIC) Students: Students that have 0-12 credit hours 
  • First Time at ACC (FTACC) Students: Students enrolling at ACC for the first time
  • International Students: Students who moved to the United States to pursue higher education and are now enrolled at ACC
  • Students with Dependents: Students who are the primary caregivers, including financially, to dependents
  • Post-Traditional Students: Students who are continuing their educational career beyond the ages of 18-24

Feeling stressed about your finals? Take a break with Student Life during Finals
Week! Join us for fun de-stress events to help you feel refreshed and ready to
finish the semester strong.

Riverbat Bash is a chance to learn more about all the resources ACC
offers at the start of each academic year. Come to this virtual resource fair

Riverbat Ambassadors are student leaders who work in the Office of Student Life. They build community at ACC by engaging with their peers through intentional conversations and event planning.

To be hired in the Office of Student Life, you must be awarded work-study through ACC Financial Aid. If you are unsure whether you qualify for work-study or how to apply for work-study, please visit your campus Financial Aid Office or add your name to the Financial Aid Work-Study 2024 – 2025 Interest Form.

Free STI Testing with Vivent Health
Each semester Student Life brings Vivent Health to ACC campuses to provide free STI and HIV testing to ACC students. Visit your campus Student Life Office for testing times and dates.

Food Pantry
Every Student Life Office has a food pantry that is free and available for all ACC students to utilize. Stop by any Student Life Office to learn more! 

Community Food Distributions
ACC partners with Central Texas Food Bank, Hill Country Community Ministries, & El Buen Samaritano to bring free, healthy foods to ACC students. Click the Free Grocery Pick-Ups at ACC schedule to learn more.
