Value Statement
The Austin Community College District (“ACC”, or “the College”) believes that adjunct faculty members are integral to our mission of teaching and learning.
Administrative Rule
New adjunct faculty are placed on the appropriate salary scale based on their highest level of education. New adjunct faculty members will receive either the new hire Lecture Equivalent Hour (LEH) rate for Master’s degree and below, or the new hire LEH rate for an earned doctorate in their teaching field or in education.
After initial placement, the LEH rate increases each year based on the Board of Trustees approved annual increase, including any faculty-related market adjustments. Adjunct faculty receiving a doctorate while at ACC will have their LEH rate adjusted retroactively to when the doctorate was conferred upon submission of an official transcript to Human Resources, Compensation showing the earned doctorate in the teaching field or in education.
