Value Statement

The Austin Community College District recognizes that junior and senior level high school students, who are academically prepared and are ready to experience college-level instruction, may benefit from taking college courses to satisfy high school graduation requirements and/or from beginning their post-secondary education prior to graduation from secondary school. ACC supports the concept of “early college start” for high school students and will actively work with area secondary schools to promote this important opportunity.

Administrative Rule

The College may enter into agreements with school districts, subject to all applicable state regulations, through the Early College Start Office.

Students who are enrolled in Early College Start programs will be subject to all College Policies and Procedures including those regarding admissions, assessment, academic standards, and student conduct, and must be included in College reports for State reimbursements.

The College will maintain a comprehensive website and include in other Early College Start materials clear guidelines and expectations of high school students, their parents/guardians, and ISD personnel.
