Architectural programming for ACC Highland Phase 2 is complete. Site utilities and internal roadways in the west and south side of the site are near completion.
Abatement of the former mall building is underway and will be performed in phases by contractors ARC Abatement and Baer Engineering. The college expects to begin some permitting and construction tasks while abatement is ongoing.
The Austin Community College District Board of Trustees approved street names for the Highland development. The names pay tribute to the college’s heritage and individuals who guided its growth. Trustees also approved the name for a 2.6-acre green space within the development.
Three Construction-Manager-at-Risk firm finalists — Flintco, SpawGlass, and DPR presented proposals to ACC’s Board of Trustees. Selection is expected in September.
