Monthly Summary
The month of November saw the finish of developing the 13th QEP micro-credential, Advanced PowerPoint. Four more to go! Work was also started in creating a template for how all the micro-credentials will look when migrated over to BlackBoard Ultra (by Fall 2025).

- November 6 – Linda Smarzik, Karina Hernandez, and Pamela Saez presented at the Distance Education Symposium.
- November 7th – Linda Smarzik attended the Badging Subcommittee.
- November 13 – Linda Smarzik, Karina Hernandez, and Pamela Saez presented at the CBExchange in Colorado Springs
- A digital poster was made to promote micro-credentials to ACC faculty.
- November 5th, Met with Nonprofit Austin, Barry Silverberg, Blu (Damon Bunton), Rosalind Guitierrez, and Nancy Hernandez to discuss offering the Digital Fluency micro-credentials through their website at approximately $100 per micro-credential.
- November 7th – Linda Smarzik presented for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating board on a panel with Chih-Wei Wang (Texas A & M), Heather Gate (Connected Nation),Sidury Christiansen(UTSA), Tara Carlisle (Texas A & M Corpus Christi), and Wes Kerr (Connected Nation). The panel was moderated by Gwen Morel from THECB.
- November 7th – Linda Smarzik attended the Badging Subcommittee.
- November 13th – Kara Buckner presented a storyboard and script for an animated, orientation video.
- November 20th – Met with Keri Moczgemba, Dean of Library Services to discuss indexing all of the video and articles in the micro-credentials.
- November 21st – Linda Smarzik presented the new AI badges to the Badging Subcommittee. The badges were approved unanimously.
- November 22nd, Linda Smarzik and Karina Hernandez presented the scope of Digital Fluency and Innovation to Associate Vice President of Workforce at ACC, Brandon Whatley.
- November 22nd, Linda Smarzik, Nancy Hernandez, Kimberly Weller, and Ann Kennedy met with Ninghua Han to discuss issues in Blackboard Ultra. .
Micro-Credentials
- Completed development of the Advanced PowerPoint micro-credential and loaded it into the LMS.
- Kimberly and Nancy started recreating Problem Solving with AI in the new Blackboard Ultra shell to assess what changes would be required for the QEP micro-credentials. ACC is requiring DFI to move all the micro-credentials over to Blackboard Ultra by Fall 2025. DFI may be able to use ACC Instructional Designers to assist with the migration, once we figure out all the changes.

- Total enrollment for Fall 2024 is 789 for a total of 2,817 learners.
