Your first step is to apply to Austin Community College.
In this challenging role, you’ll work with sophisticated fluoroscopic equipment to take images of the heart and surrounding blood vessels. You will assist with procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, embolization, ablation, and biopsies.
To earn postprimary credentials in Cardiac Interventional Radiology, you must first be certified and registered in Radiology by the ARRT. You must maintain compliance with the ARRT’s Standard of Ethics, fulfill additional requirements in structured education and clinical experience, and successfully complete the Cardiac Interventional Registry Examination. If a "P" grade is chosen for a Spring 2020 prerequisite course, the “P” grade will not be calculated in determining the GPA for ranking purposes and could impact your total ranking. This applies to Radiology, MRI, Computed Tomography, and Cardiovascular Interventional Technology applicants.
