Austin Community College’s Surgical Technology Program has opened Spring 2022 admissions to include students who are currently in the process of completing prerequisite courses.
Qualified applicants are students who have either completed the following prerequisite courses or who will complete them in the Summer and/or Fall 2021 semester(s):
The Surgical Technology Department will be allowing applications for Fall 2021 to be submitted with the required prerequisites in progress for Summer 2021. Please visit the Application Process page for more information.
Dell Children’s Medical Center is starting a new program for fetal interventional surgery (surgery on babies while they are still in utero). It will be one of the only delivery units attached to a children’s hospital. They are hiring two teams: one that will specialize in fetal interventional surgery (those postings will be at Dell Children’s Medical Center) and another team to work in the maternal delivery unit (those postings will be at Ascension Seton Medical Center). Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Effective immediately, a TEAS Test score is no longer required to apply to the Surgical Technology Program.
If a “P” grade is chosen for a Spring 2020 prerequisite course, the “P” grade will not be calculated in determining the GPA for ranking purposes and could impact your total ranking. For questions regarding choosing a “P” versus a performance grade (A, B, C) please contact Administrative Assistant Nancy DeLeon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
