About This Resource
This resource is designed to assist the beginning Cardiac Sonography student in acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to perform the routine Adult echocardiogram. This includes 2D and M-mode acquisition of the standard views, basic 2D measurements, and color and spectral Doppler image acquisition and measurements.
Objectives
- Identify 2D anatomy from the standard views required of a routine Adult echocardiogram
- Discuss technique and transducer manipulation needed to acquire and optimize the standard views
- Distinguish adequate from inadequate 2D, color and spectral Doppler images
- Discuss the techniques of accurate measurement of 2D structures and spectral Doppler images
