Subcostal IVC and Hepatic Vein

From the subcostal window, obtain a long axis image of the IVC and the hepatic vein. Ensure the entrance of the vessel (IVC) into the right atrium is noted and elongate the vessel as much as possible. Measure the IVC just proximal to the entrance of the RA at the hepatic vein. Measure the hepatic vein close to it’s entrance into the IVC.
