Ascending Aorta and Descending Aorta

Obtain a long axis image of the aortic arch from the suprasternal notch window. Freeze and scroll to end diastole. Measure the ascending and descending aorta. Be sure your measurement is perpendicular to the vessel. Measure the descending aorta distal to the subclavian artery take-off.
