The Mobility Track in ACC’s Associate Degree Nursing program is a fast-track pathway designed for licensed or certified healthcare professionals to become registered nurses (RNs). Unlike traditional nursing tracks, Mobility Track Nursing builds on prior clinical experience and credentials, allowing qualified applicants to advance more quickly through the program.

Eligibility

Must be a current ACC Student

 

Meet the Technical Standards

 

Pass the TEAS with at least 68%

 

Completion of previous healthcare discipline course with a >2.7 GPA

How to Apply

1. Make sure your ACC email is active
2. Complete the Information Session & Post Test
3. Complete required immunizations
4. Ensure current TX Licensure or certification

Ensure licensure coursework transcript has been submitted to Admissions for evaluation

5. Take the TEAS
6. Upload Application Packet (PDF)

Combine and upload the following into a single PDF:

  1. ACC Immunization form WITH Health Sciences Approval Email
  2. Information Session Post Test Confirmation
  3. Signed Technical Standards Form
  4. Copy of relevant U.S. license or board certification (in good standing)
  5. Copy of Passing TEAS Scores
  6. Submit the application:

7. Petition Process for Semester 1 for LVN Students

Students will be ranked and invited first via ACC email.
Second round invitations go out after the deadline, based on availability.
LVN students may be eligible for credit by exam for semester 1 and start with semester 2 if successful.

Transition

LVN to Mobility Transition Plan

LVN applicants are eligible to challenge the first semester of courses in the Mobility Track by taking a computerized exam and mastery skills checkoffs at the Eastview campus. LVN applicants who pass the challenge exams for all 3 courses may enter into Semester II. LVN applicants who do not take the challenge exams or do not satisfactorily pass the exams will need to take the courses during semester I.

An optional Open Lab Practice Day will be held on Tues, Dec. 2nd for any LVN applicants who wish to challenge the 1st semester.

To obtain Credit by Exam, applicants must complete and successfully pass the challenge exam and/or checkoff on the following dates:

RN-to-BSN Transition Plan

Students who have completed the Mobility Track prerequisites and corequisites are encouraged to begin coursework for the RN-to-BSN program.

Ranking

Why a Ranking System?

The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Mobility Track is a competitive program with limited seats, a ranking system helps ensure that applicants are selected based on a fair and objective evaluation. The ranking takes into account academic performance, exam readiness, and additional qualifications to identify candidates who are best prepared to succeed in the program.

GPA 2.7 (Health Science courses only) Per credit hour:
A = 4 points, B = 3 points, C = 2 points
ATI TEAS points 10 points = 90–100%
7 points = 78–89%
4 points = 68–77%
Completed Information Session Post Test 1 point (new 1st time applicants only)
Each application period 5 points
Medical Terminology with C or better 2 points
Non-Nursing Degree Courses Completed Before Application 6 points
Active healthcare license/certificate in Texas 3 points
ACC Alumni of a Health Science Program 3 points
Military Service 3 points
