Applying the ACC Brand: External Communications

When sharing ACC’s story through external channels, consistent messaging that reflects the college’s brand is essential. Follow these guidelines and contact the Office of College Relations & Marketing (OCRM) for additional guidance.

Media Advisories

OCRM must be involved in all external communications. This ensures that information shared is clear, accurate, and reflects ACC’s brand identity. It also ensures that communications are consistent and delivered in a manner and timeline that supports a cohesive messaging strategy and aligns with college priorities.

All media advisories prepared by ACC departments must be submitted to OCRM for review and approval. Submit media advisories to OCRM at least two weeks in advance of the intended release date to allow for review, editing, and coordination with other communications.

Brand Guidelines for Media Advisories

Logo: The ACC District logo should appear in its entirety in the top left corner of the advisory. No other college logos should be used.

Typography: Use Times New Roman font for text and headlines.

Clarity and conciseness: Advisories must be clear and concise, while maintaining a professional tone. View ACC Brand Messaging for examples of messaging and writing guidelines.

Boilerplate: Include ACC’s boilerplate description at the end of all advisories:

[text to come]

Media Requests/Interviews

Any media requests (local or national) for an interview or comment by an employee representing the college and/or about a topic involving ACC must be submitted to OCRM’s media relations team for prior approval. This includes, but is not limited to, statements, articles, blog posts, and interviews. This applies to all faculty and staff.

All communications must be:

Consistent: Messaging must align with the company’s values and mission.

Accurate: Information must be clear and truthful.
