August 2023 QEP Update

Monthly Summary

In the area of outreach in August, activities involved meetings with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and expand educational opportunities. One meeting included Vanessa Errico, Manager of the Military Family Center, along with other team members, to discuss plans for a pilot program. This initiative aims to provide microcredentials to 25 Military Family Center Spouses starting in January. Additionally, discussions were held with Foundation Communities regarding their clients’ participation in microcredentials once a grant is signed, with a target date of October 1st.

On the microcredential front, several developments were noted. Progress continued on building the Photoshop microcredential, with Web Analytics and HTML/CSS content being integrated into the LMS. There were efforts to enhance the instructional experience, such as ACC Grow Student working on an instructional animation for Web Builder. Valuable feedback was received from students who completed Summer Microcredentials, emphasizing the effectiveness of the courses in catering to different learning styles and the crucial support provided by the Digital Navigators. The testimonials highlighted the practical knowledge gained and the importance of clear instructions and well-organized content.

In terms of data, enrollment figures for Fall 2023 showcased promising numbers, with 518 enrollments in Opt-In and Co-curricular options, reaching 64% capacity out of a potential 807. A new co-curricular course was introduced for the fall semester, coupling LGLA 1311 with the Word Processing microcredential. These data points indicate a strong interest in the available educational offerings and potential for continued growth.
