January 2024 QEP Update

Monthly Summary

During the month of January, outreach activities were carried out, including hosting a Student Info Session and meeting with stakeholders to discuss micro-credentials. Work continued on refining existing micro-credentials and creating new ones. Enrollment data shows progress, with 857 enrollments across nine micro-credentials. The goal to increase opt-in enrollments was set for Spring/Summer 2024, with 640 enrollments for Spring sessions, surpassing the overall enrollment goal.

Highlights

Outreach

  • Held a Student Info Session on Thursday, January 11th, 
  • Met with Jennifer Houlihan about offering a DFI micro-credential at the Army Software Factory during Spring Break. The HTML micro-credential will be offered. 
  • Set up new student info sessions dates for Spring registration.
  • Met with Courtney Ahrenholtz to offer a Web Builder micro-credential in her eCommerce Marketing course on January 30th.  

Micro-Credentials 

  • Continuing to refine Word Processing and Presentation Software micro-credentials to be ready for spring/first session on January 29th.  
  • Began developing the Problem Solving with AI micro-credential.
  • Added a second spreadsheets micro-credential for the spring/first session. 

Data

    • To date, with nine of 16 micro-credentials launched, the combined co-curricular and opt-in sections had enrollments of 857. Co-curricular (in the classroom) had an unduplicated headcount of 362 enrollments while the Opt-in had a duplicated headcount of 495 enrollments since September 2022. The goal for the Provost’s Council was to increase the opt-in number by 260 additional learners for Spring/Summer 2024. 
    • Currently, for Spring sessions one and two, there are 371 opt-in enrollments and 269 for co-curricular (640) which makes total enrollment since inception 1492.
    • The goal for September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024 (QEP goal) is 1410. The milestone for 2023-24 has been met and surpassed by 82 students with enrollment for the spring session 2 and summer ongoing.
