December 2023 QEP Update

Monthly Summary

December was a month for collecting data, students’ survey responses, and refining micro-credential content in preparation for Spring sessions. A hybrid model for micro-credential delivery was also developed and set up for Spring. A cohort of AVANCE students will pilot this new modality.

Highlights

Outreach

  • Created a post for an upcoming Riverbat Echo newsletter to promote Spring registration.
  • Sent out the Winter newsletter on December 4th to 678 subscribers.
  • Set up new student info sessions dates for Spring registration.
  • Met with Nancy Lyons of Bioscience Incubator to discuss potential opportunities for collaboration.  

Micro-Credentials 

  • Refining Word Processing and Presentation Software micro-credentials to provide clarity in instructions for ease of use.  
  • Created a blog tutorial on the website, instructing Staff on how to add micro-credentials as professional development in Workday.
  • Experimented with using PowerPoint to create interactive instructional material for micro-credentials and determined that it is a viable option.
  • Awarded badges and sent out congratulations email for the second Fall session.  
  • Set up a pilot of the microcredential hybrid model for AVANCE to College students for the Spring Semester
    • Reserved ACC SAC computer lab.
    • Defined job description for digital navigator assistant.
    • Hired an AVANCE to College student through ACC GROW program to assist in the hybrid model.

Data

  • Reviewed student feedback from micro-credential surveys.
  • Collected quotes from student surveys for use on website and social media.
  • Received results and analyses of the OIRA DFI Survey of Faculty and Department Chairs.
