Senate Standard 3.4

The first day of Fall certainly made an appearance yesterday! I hope that you can find an opportunity to enjoy our lovely weather.Thankfully, COVID numbers in our region are showing an encouraging downward trend. As tempting as it is, these positive numbers cannot cause us to become complacent because the SARS-CoV2 virus is still highly circulating in our community. All faculty are expected to instruct students to self-report when appropriate (see the ACC Procedure for COVID Cases or Exposure item below) and enforce masks be worn on ACC campuses. As I mentioned last week, the conversations about Spring 2022 offerings and policies have begun. The Faculty Senate created a survey for ALL full-time faculty to share their thoughts for Spring 22 planning, found below. Please take a few minutes to inform us of your opinions and preferences. Thank you to all who participated in the inaugural Standard Poll of the Week. Data from these weekly polls will inform Faculty Senate decisions and support related discussions with administrations. As always, until next time, stay safe!~SamanthaSamantha Croft, Ph.D.[email protected]

Newsworthy Information
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY!
Vote for the QEP and encourage your students to vote too!
The QEP Topic Selection Committee has been working hard since February 2021 to review submitted QEP Topics. They’ve narrowed down the list to four topics that will help us fulfill requirements for our SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) decennial reaffirmation. The QEP will be a five-year project that supports student success and/or student learning. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! It is time for you to help us select the QEP topic for the entire ACC Community.
Go to https://www.austincc.edu/qep to access the voting form.
Fulltime Faculty Spring 2022 Planning Survey
All full-time faculty members are encouraged to take this short survey to express their opinions about Spring 2022. The survey closes on Sunday, October 3rd, at 11:59 pm.
Take the survey.
ACC Procedure for COVID Cases or Exposure
As an instructor, your responsibility is to report for yourself and encourage your students to self-report when needed. A member of the ACC Contract Tracing team will contact anyone who self-reports with the next steps. It is not the instructor’s role to report for their students or make quarantine decisions.*If you test positive for COVID, are exhibiting symptoms of COVID, or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive within the last 14 days then you must self-report. Potential exposure is defined as within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more within a 24 hour period.
