March 2023 QEP Update

Monthly Summary

March was a short, but productive month. Significant progress was made in the development of Digital Navigator qualifications, which were approved according to SACSCOC parameters, which brought us one step closer to implementing the Digital Navigator hiring process. Additionally, all Fundamentals of Computer Skills for Job Readiness microcredentials have been developed and are currently being uploaded into the LMS. A pilot for the first opt-in version of the Web Builder microcredential was offered.

A timeline was developed to educate and market the program to internal stakeholders and meetings are currently underway.

Highlights

Outreach

  • Collaborated with the Implementation Committee and Outreach Subcommittee to strategize and build a timeline for outreach to present Information Sessions to Deans, Department Chairs, Advisors, Librarians, Counselors, etc.
  • Continuing to build the website, including the development of a Student Support page, a micro-survey, a call-to-action animated slider, and further refinement of the front page and the microcredential pages
  • Attended Leadership Workshop hosted by Apple.

Microcredentials

  • Ongoing – D2L BSL training: Intelligent Agents
  • Customized rubrics on Web Builder microcredential to address unique technical requirements of each project assignment.
  • Completed curriculum development for Intro to Computers and Internet Search, Word Processing, Presentation Software, Spreadsheets and Data Management.
  • Ongoing – Uploading Fundamentals of Computers Skills for Job Readiness microcredentials curriculum into D2L Brightspace course shells.
  • Launched first opt-in Web Builder microcredential. 4 students successfully completed microcredential.
  • Started two co-curricular Web Builder microcredentials sessions in the ITSE 1301 Web Design Tools course.
  • Conducted training for Digital Navigators on newly released rubrics.
  • Wrote and built Digital Navigator qualifications table combined with 16 one-pagers. Qualifications were approved by Misty Rasmussen according to SACSCOC parameters.
  • Ongoing – collaborating with TLED for the first pilot of Microcredentials and Digital Badging through the platform, Suitable.

Data

  • Collaborated with OIRA, Implementation Committee, and Data SubCommittee to design a plan for Data to include: Baseline Data, Milestones, Student Learning Outcomes, and Core Performance Indicators. Presented the plan to OIRA.
