May 2023 QEP Update

Monthly Summary

The month of May saw a lot of outreach to promote Summer and Fall microcredential offerings, as well as a heavy focus on refining the microcredential content in Brightspace to increase consistency, clarity, and user experience.

Highlights

Outreach

  • Created assets to promote upcoming info sessions including a pop-up on the website, a Registration page linking to a Google sign-up form, call-to-action sections on other website pages, five static digital signs and one animated one,  printed posters to display at each campus. Rack cards were also created to distribute at events and locations around the college, including at the Early College High School celebration and during Registration Week. Continuation of Info sessions for Deans, Department Chairs, and Student Affairs personnel.
  • Held first student/faculty/staff information session on May 23, 2023 with 28 Eventbrite registrations and 15 attending. 
  • Held Info Sessions for Dean Lorlie Ellis, Dean Deshaunta Stewart, the Social and Behavioral Sciences Chairs. 
  • Addition of Info Sessions for the Summer 2023 microcredential offerings to the ACC virtual events calendar.
  • Held two trainings for Digital Navigators for Summer 2023. 
  • Participated in the Early College High School graduation celebrations (Akins and Crockett) and hosted an information table for two days for Registration Week events.
  • Created a Student Info Session PowerPoint presentation. 
  • Completion of the first edition, The Spark newsletter, and was distributed for internal communication on May 15th indicating the launch of six microcredentials for the summer session. Sent to approximately 125 signups from the website and the Cabinet. 
  • Creation of assets for Student Affairs to use in newsletters to market info sessions.
  • Creation of a one-pager/executive summary for the purposes of quick internal and external communication. 

Microcredentials

  • Creation of capstone projects for Intro to Computers and Presentation Software. 
  • Updated Professional Competency Surveys to reflect specific microcredential skills.
  • Creation of Master Syllabi for the Microcredentials 1-6.
  • Planned for a new Orientation and Navigation video to reflect the new Brightspace student experience.
  • Final review and edits of three microcredentials for consistency and clarity.
  • Creation of a new registration page on the Digital Fluency website.
  • Creation and implementation of a new registration process.
  • Creation and posting of a blog post and video with instructions for students on how to place a badge on a LinkedIn profile.
  • Creation of a registration confirmation email for the new registration process.

Data

  • Offering of the first six microcredentials as an opt-in Summer session for June . To date, there are 59 registrations of students, faculty, and staff signed up for six microcredentials of 120 beta spots. 
  • The open rate for the first edition of the newsletter, “The Spark” was 80%. 
  • Continue to collaborate with OIRA for refinement of a college-wide survey that will be sent to students, faculty, and department chairs.

No meeting this month due to end of semester and faculty off contract.
