Senate Standard
As we move deeper into the semester and approach the mid-semester mark, I’ve heard from faculty about the increased struggle their students are having in obtaining the school supplies and required materials that need in order to be successful in their courses. Some students may need standard supplies – like notebooks or folders. For other students, acquiring uniform pieces or technical equipment may be posing a challenge. In the current Standard poll I invite you to share your observations about these needs, including what you may require students to provide. Your feedback about the supplies students need and the existing resources already available to help students obtain these supplies will help inform work underway to increase funding to try and meet this student need college wide.

Community Mentorship Opportunity
Seedling is a local, non-profit organization ACC has partnered with over the last few years. Their focus is on providing children who have a parent that is incarcerated with the support and encouragement of a caring adult mentor. Volunteer mentors devote one lunch hour per week during the school year to listening, encouraging, and just being there for the student. If you would like more information or if you would like to register to become an ACC Champion for Seedling, please visit the Seedling website.

Please visit the Faculty Evaluation Proposed Revisions Website to read about all of the proposed revisions along with tweaks and changes made since the spring from feedback received from faculty during Spring 2022. Please take the time to submit your feedback by October 31. You can also follow up directly with Marcus McGuff or Gale Spear.
