Senate Meeting November 17
The next Senate meeting is Friday, November 17 (12 pm – 1:30 pm).  If you have any topics you would like to be considered for the agenda, please send them to me at [email protected].
Faculty Contracts Update
We (the Senate leadership) met with Neil Vickers, the Vice Chancellor of Finance, and Dr. Umphrey, our Provost regarding faculty contracts. We shared with them that those who participated in a survey and the ensuing discussion at the October 13 Senate meeting were divided on how to address the faculty contract salary error. However, there was a definite consensus that this kind of mistake should not have happened at all. We conveyed that regardless of the administration’s decision, a sincere apology and explanation for the mishap needs to be offered.

We also discussed the creation of a workgroup made up of members of both the faculty and the administration–not only to minimize errors, but to add clarity and transparency to the process of generating contracts.
Chancellor’s Virtual Town Hall
Dr. Lowery-Hart is hosting monthly Virtual Town Halls each month to stay connected to students, faculty, and staff at ACC. These conversations will keep students and employees updated on happenings across the district and will create spaces to share comments, questions, ideas, and concerns.
