Beginning with Spring 2027 registration, departmental approval will no longer be required to enroll in BIOL 2401. As part of this change, the Biology Department will no longer offer BIOL 2401 sections paired with BIOL 1308.
Students who have not previously completed Biology coursework are encouraged, but not required, to take BIOL 1308 before enrolling in BIOL 2401 (A&P I). Taking BIOL 1308 first can help students build a stronger foundation in Biology and better prepare them for A&P I.
BIOL 2401 will not have a course prerequisite. However, students must be TSI Complete (College Ready) in Reading, Writing, and Math to register. These are the same TSI requirements for BIOL 2404.
BIOL 2401 sections are expected to fill quickly, especially with the removal of the departmental approval process. Students are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible.
If a section is full, students may need to join the waitlist. Students on a waitlist should monitor their ACC email closely for notification that a seat is available.
