Comments on Proposed Adjunct Staffing Committee,  Adjunct Faculty Workloads, and Review of Adjunct Faculty Administrative Rules  AR and G/Ps are due March 31st.
The Academic and Student Affairs Council (ASAC) has reviewed proposed changes to the following committee structure, Administrative Rules (AR) and Guideline/Procedure (G/P), and posted the drafts for comments from ACC employees:Proposed
Adjunct Staffing Committee
The role, functions, and membership of the ACC e-Staffing Committee are significantly modified.  The committee becomes the Adjunct Staffing Committee with broader responsibilities. The proposed committee still reports to the Academic and Student Affairs Council.

4.06.013     Adjunct Faculty Workloads  (Administrative Rule and Guideline/Procedure)

The AR has been clarified and G/P added. Temporary Emergency Hire procedures, beginning contract date, and access to distance learning courses have been updated. Overall workload limits remain the same.

4.06.005     Review of Adjunct Faculty Administrative Rules  (Administrative Rule) 

The AR has been updated to allow the Adjunct Faculty Association to request a procedural review, and adds a member to the review panel.

The Administrative Services Council (ASC) has reviewed and approved proposed changes to the following Administrative Rules (AR) and Guideline/Procedure (G/P) and posted the drafts for comments from ACC employees:

3.1900.01   Information Security: new Administrative Rule

The new rule is intended to replace AR 3.05.003, Connecting Devices to the College Network, which will be rescinded after the new AR is adopted.
The AR is more concise and refers students and employees to the appropriate regulations and resources on the ACC IT website.

6.09.005     Non-Accrued Paid Leave:  Administrative Rule and Guideline/Procedure

The AR and G/P have been updated to align with current operating procedures.T

Available Opportunities
Full-Time Faculty Needed for the QEP Development Committee
The QEP Development Committee is researching best practices, coming up with assessment methods, writing a report, and creating an implementation timeline. The work of this committee will continue through the summer and end at the beginning of the Fall 2022 semester.  Meeting dates are Apr 1, Apr 22, May 6 from 10 am to noon and every two weeks on Friday over the summer from 10 am to noon.More information on the committee can be found here. Click on the Contact Us! button to express your interest by March 30th.
Faculty Needed to Give Input on the New Disability Management System
SAS is in the process of implementing a new disability management system called AIM. It will essentially create a “one-stop shop” for students, faculty, and SAS staff regarding all things disability. Two full-time faculty volunteers are needed to contribute their opinions on the system, determine what information is on an accommodation letter, and craft verbiage to make the accommodations clear. Contact Lauren Sebel at [email protected] for questions or to express interest.

ACC faculty (Instructors, Counselors, Librarians) are invited to attend the Online Lilly Conference to be held April 6, 13, 20, and 27. The Lilly Conference is not only a wonderful opportunity to learn and develop as educators but also a great opportunity to network. This conference will offer four Wednesdays of synchronous programming on the above dates PLUS recorded sessions to view at your own pace through June 2022. The College will provide funding for 100 full-conference registrations. Senate Academic Affairs Committee
The Senate Academic Affairs Committee considers curriculum and instructional matters and brings recommendations to the Senate about such matters, and (if so directed by the Senate) communicates with appropriate administrators.Member reflection: “I find it refreshing to engage with colleagues across the college to thoughtfully engage and address issues impacting not just faculty but also students.” Senate Policy and Procedure Committee The Senate Policy and Procedure Committee considers policy and procedures affecting full-time faculty and brings recommendations to the Senate about such matters, and (if so directed by the Senate) communicates with appropriate administrators about the same.Member reflection:The Policy & Procedure committee meets as necessary to discuss pending ACC policy or procedure changes that may affect Full-Time Faculty, or to suggest changes upon request of the Faculty Senate..”
