Online Exercise Classes- Exercise has been proven to improve your health and reduce the risk of illness. We are offering a modified schedule of virtual exercise classes open to ALL ACC employees via Google Meet. These are live online classes hosted by some of our esteemed exercise instructors. You don’t need to pre-register to attend. Just click on the class you’d like to attend during the scheduled time and join us for some fun and fitness. Feel free to try any of the available classes and even include your family in the fun if you’d like!

Also….Did you know that Mindfulness has not only been proven to help people manage stress, but can also help to improve productivity, reduce blood pressure, improve sleep, decrease anxiety and depression, and improve immune function. Why not give it a try? Click HERE for some resources on Mindfulness including links to guided meditation and breathing activities. There are also several apps you can download with free daily practices.
This year marked the 5th offering of the “Become an ACC Exercise Star” Challenge coordinated by the ACC Employee Wellness Program to promote increased activity among our employees. 587 ACC faculty and staff participated this spring, which was a 67% increase from last year, and the most participants in the history of the challenge. 256 of these participants were new to the challenge. The Challenge ran from February 3 through April 12, 2020, with half of the challenge spanning through the COVID-19 pandemic. 340 employees completed the challenge and met their goal, for a completion rate of 58%.
Together, employees logged a whopping 1,069,911 total minutes of exercise which equals 743 days of continuous exercise. That’s over 2 years of exercise!
ACC President, Dr. Richard Rhodes, congratulated and presented awards for the Top Individual Stars and Most Active Campuses via a livestream virtual awards celebration on Friday, May 8, 2020. Click HERE to check out the video from this livestream event!

Become An ACC Exercise Star – February 3 – April 12, 2020

That’s Right!! It’s time to GET MOVING again with this annual exercise incentive program and friendly campus competition that STARTS NEXT WEEK!! This challenge is designed for ALL LEVELS to encourage you to increase your activity level over the next couple of months. Just 15 minutes a day can really make a difference on your health (and even earn you a prize)!!
Participation is Easy…Just:
- Set your exercise/activity goal & sign up for your fitness level
- Start exercising and be sure to log your minutes each week on your campus spreadsheet
- Be part of your campus’s Exercise Stars team… your exercise minutes contribute to your campus’s total to help win ‘The Most Active Campus’ competition
- Receive tip sheets and motivating messages throughout the program
- Watch your minutes add up and your fitness improve
- Make friends and enjoy exercising with your peers
