Certificate
During their classes students have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment, from older systems to state of the art equipment. This allows students to get hands-on experience with systems they will encounter while working in the HVAC/R industry, and to learn about the newest technologies.
*** Important ***
Students without an extensive background in series and parallel circuits should FINISH HART 1401, Basic Electricity for HVAC, BEFORE registering for HART 1403, Air Conditioning Control Principles
Certificate classes
The Certificate (catalog information) includes the following classes:
- Three introductory courses
- HART 1441 Residential Air Conditioning
- HART 1445 Gas and Electrical Heating
- HART 2431 Advanced Electricity for HVAC
- Three electives (academics – one must be a math class and one must be English Composition I)
- An Internship
After completing the Certificate program , the student should possess the knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and repair the heating and cooling systems of most residential split systems.
