Prerequisite: HART 1441 Residential Air Conditioning
Students learn how to install and service air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and get detailed instructions in motors and power distribution.
The class reinforces the guidelines and procedures for charging an Air Conditioner, including the use refrigerant recovery equipment: the vacuum pump, micron gauge, and mechanical and electronic scales and charging equipment.
Student work on modern state of the art equipment typically found on new installs, and older equipment found on maintenance repair visits.
Students working on lab activities
Some lab exercises use circuit boards and components of compressors; other labs are on equipment that is set up as though it is in a house.
