Amplify Center

Overview

In 2022, ACC and its District Clinical Counseling Services (DCCS) team partnered with the Amplify Center through the UT Health Austin at Dell Medical School, a program of the Center for Youth Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, to provide community-based mental health support to ACC students. The partnership located at ACC‘s Eastview Campus aims to enhance mental health services for ACC students aged 18–29 who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health symptoms.

Accomplishments

ACC’s District Clinical Counseling Services leadership collaborated with the Amplify Center staff to ensure a seamless referral process of providing mental health services to students and assist in marketing the Amplify Center’s added mental health services opportunities for ACC students.

Impact

By partnering with the Amplify Center, ACC students who meet eligibility requirements can be provided expanded services beyond short-term mental health support. The collaboration will provide long-term mental health therapy, assistance with educational and employment goals, and facilitate connections to community resources. Additionally, the partnership emphasizes a team-based integrated care approach, ensuring that students receive comprehensive support for their mental health needs.

The collaboration between ACC‘s DCCS program and the Amplify Center allows for a seamless transition of students requiring long-term services to the Amplify Center, where they can access appropriate resources. Services provided by the partnership are designed to accommodate the preferences and needs of students. They can receive support in person, over the phone, or virtually via video chat. This flexibility ensures that students can access mental health services in a manner that is convenient and comfortable for them.

Overall, the partnership between ACC and the Amplify Center seeks to enhance mental health support for ACC students, offering a comprehensive and integrated approach to address their mental health symptoms. By expanding services, providing flexibility, and fostering personalized support, this collaboration aims to promote the well-being and success of students.
