Increased Associate Degree Nursing Graduation Rate

Overview

The Central Texas area has an ongoing need for more nurses. ACC is a recognized leader for the quality and skills of graduates from its Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program. The Nursing Department seeks to boost the graduation rate in the ADN program while also helping previous ADN graduates return to pursue the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.

Accomplishments

In 2021–2022 we had an increase in both BSN and ADN graduates:

  • For the BSN, we had a 28.26% increase in the graduation rate from the year before.
  • For the ADN program, we had a 4.87% increase in the graduation rate from the year before.

Impact

From spring 2020 through spring 2023, 693 students graduated from the ADN program.

Next Steps

In fall 2023 through an Achieving the Dream grant and in partnership with Capital IDEA, we will enroll 20 additional students in the ADN program at Round Rock Campus. Providing tutoring and other supports to our nursing students will help us continue to increase our graduation rates.
