RNSG 1443/1360 – Complex Concepts of Adult Health (RRC) Section 003 (Purple)



Orientation

  • When: Monday, January 21, 2025 at 8 a.m.
  • Where: RRC Building 3000, Room 3232
  • What to bring: A signed copy of the release forms for the 1443 (theory) and 1360 (clinical) syllabi. Please bring your lab kits to all labs and wear scrubs.

Class Schedule

Please note, scheduled events are subject to change. Your Level 2 Purple faculty will notify you via Blackboard and/or email if there are any major changes.

Skills Labs

  • When and where: First 3 Mondays of the semester at 8 a.m. – 12:40 p.m.
  • What to bring: Lab kit, IV notes, IV drug book, scrubs, and closed-toed shoes

Dosage Calculation Exam

  • When: Tuesday, January 21, 2025, 10 – 10:30 a.m.
  • Where: RRC Testing Center (Building 3000, Room 3334)
  • What to bring: You may use the calculator on the computer. You may not use your cell phone calculator.

You will be required to take a Dosage Calculation Exam as part of course orientation. You must pass this exam with a minimum of 90% before you are allowed to administer medications in the clinical setting.

Level Mastery Skills Check-off

  • When: Thursday, January 30, 2025, 7:45 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Where: TBD (Lab)
  • What to have available:
    • Lab kit and drug book
    • The first comprehensive Mastery Skills Check-off will cover previously learned skills in Level 1. All students registered for Level 2 are required to be at the Mastery Skills Check-off.
    • You will be given a patient situation and must satisfactorily complete the assigned skills to continue in the course. You will be checked off on injections (IM or sub-q) and catheterization (male or female Foley).

Clinical Schedule

The clinical groups, sites, times and days have not yet been finalized. Clinical assignments will be posted to Blackboard by the first week of the semester. Your clinical instructor will contact you with additional information regarding your clinical medical/surgical rotation, so check your ACC e-mail account often.

    post-conference at clinical that week, you do not have to come to class on Saturdays – unless you have
