Orientation
- When: Monday, August 22, 2022, 9 – 11:30 a.m.
- Where: CEC C1.114 (see CEC reader board for room changes)
- Prior to orientation, upload a signed copy of the 1443 (Theory) / 1360 (Clinical) syllabus release form to Blackboard.
- Complete your Clinical Ticket. You must have this complete by the first day of class or you will be dropped from the class.
- All students will meet on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 12 noon for the Dosage Calculation Exam. This is a mandatory exam that will take place at the end of Orientation in C2.127.
Class Schedule
- When: Tuesdays, 8 a.m. – 12 noon. Some lecture times have been adjusted for content, please refer to the calendar for specific times.
- Where: Blackboard Collaborate
- Calendar: Level 2 CEC (Google Calendar). Please note, scheduled events are subject to change due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. Your Level 2 CEC faculty will notify you via email if there are any major changes.
Skills Labs
- When and where: See the calendar for dates, times, and locations.
- What to bring: Lab kit, IV notes, IV drug book
- What to wear: ACC scrubs, closed-toed shoes, and surgical mask
Dosage Calculation Exam
- When: Monday, August 22, 2022 at 12 noon (after Orientation)
- Where: C2.217
- What to bring: You may use a simple calculator, pencil, and scratch paper. You may not use a smart device or cell phone as a calculator.
- You will be required to take a Dosage Calculation Exam as part of Orientation. You must pass this exam with a minimum of 90% before you are allowed to administer medications in the clinical setting.
Level Mastery Skills Check-off
- When: Wednesday, August 24, 2022 (see Blackboard for your assigned check-off time)
- Where: CEC AC 3rd floor
- What to bring: Your lab pack
- The first comprehensive Mastery Skills Check-off will cover previously learned skills in Level 1. All students registered for Level 2 are required to be at the Mastery Skills Check-off. Students have up to three attempts to pass check-off; missing a check-off counts as an attempt. You must wear ACC teal scrubs for all check-offs.
- You will be given a patient situation and will demonstrate the care you would provide using the equipment in your lab pack. You will be checked off on injections (IM or Sub Q) and catheterization (male or female Foley).
- You must successfully complete the assigned checkoff to continue in this course.

Clinical Schedule
The clinical groups, sites, times and days have not yet been finalized. Clinical assignment will be posted to Blackboard on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Your clinical instructor will contact you with additional information regarding your clinical medical/surgical rotation, so check your ACC email account often. Please keep in mind that although you might sign up for a particular instructor for clinical, you may be assigned to a different clinical group. Clinical placements are assigned and not subject to change once posted.
