Orientation & First Day of Class/Lab
- When and where: See the calendar for dates, times, and locations.
- Where: Tracheostomy Lab will be in the Skills Lab at EVC.
- Be prepared for all labs. Go to “Labs” on Blackboard, then click on the Tracheostomy Module. Complete all the items in this module including:
- View the PowerPoint and handouts in the module
- View all PowerPoints related to demonstration of skills for this lab.
- Print out Performance Checklists and the Practice Scenarios, and bring them to lab.
- Bring your lab kit with tracheostomy suctioning and care supplies to lab.
- Wear scrubs and closed toe shoes to lab (does not need to be ACC teal scrubs).
- Additional labs include:
- Central Venous Catheter (CVC) Lab Draw, Dressing Change, and Cap Change
- Peripheral Lab Draw Using a Butterfly Needle and a Syringe
- Peripheral Lab Draw Using a Straight Needle and a Vacutainer Holder
